What is a Rotary Air Preheater
A ROTARY AIR PREHEATER is a moving heat exchanger in which heat exchange takes place through packets of sheet metal placed in the rotating rotor. These packets intercept flue gas heat from the boiler and transfer it into the air that is further led in to the boiler system.
Thanks to the Rotary Air Preheater, boiler efficiency increases by 1% for every 15-25°C of the air temperature increase; and, in addition, the conditions for ignition and combustion of fuel in the furnace are improved.
Due to the compact construction and relatively low susceptibility to corrosion, it is used in most pulverized fuel boilers, regardless of the type of fuel used.
