Blowers

As a result of the combustion of different solid fuels, the waste material is fly ash entrained with flue gas, settling on all elements in contact with the flue gas.

Deposits formed on heat-exchange surfaces, i.e. heating baskets of the Rotary Air Preheater cause reduction of the heat exchange efficiency and an increase of flow resistance and leakage. This leads to an increase in the cost of operation of the device.
The way to significantly reduce costs is to install ash blowers. By operating in cycles, blowers allow maintaining heated surfaces in cleanliness, without interrupting device operation. Regular use of blowers allows for long-lasting operation, in optimum heat-exchange conditions and without excessive accumulation of sediments.

Blowers are installed on the preheater flue gas side, directly above and below the rotor, in such a way that its extended working element slides tangentially to the hub of the preheater rotor, providing even cleaning of the entire surface of the baskets. The medium, in order to reduce operational costs of the Rotary Air Preheater, is steam. The blowing element, i.e. the lance with nozzles is extended inside the preheater with a continuous motion, and rolled back to the rest location with an intermittent motion (stepper). The pitch between the subsequent cleaning positions provides full coverage of the rotor.
